OMicron® solid glass beads are hard, resistant (high crush strength), inert, spherical and have excellent chemical and heat resistance.
Two standard particle size distributions are available :
NP3
The Omicron® NP3, ultrafine glass beads with a smooth and polished surface, are crush resistant and fully transparent. The average diameter of the particle size is 3 µm. Their texture looks like white powder.
Sovitec’s OMicron® NP3 glass beads can be supplied with a coupling agent in order to enhance the dispersion and integration of the glass beads into various systems of resins, polymers and binders.

The Omicron® NP3 have as their primary application to improve the scratch resistance and abrasion resistance of various systems such as wood coatings, varnishes and paints.

The Omicron® NP5, ultrafine glass beads with a smooth and polished surface, are crush resistant and fully transparent. The average diameter of the particle size is 5 µm. Their texture looks like white powder.
Sovitec’s OMicron® NP5 glass beads can be supplied with a coupling agent in order to enhance the dispersion and integration of the glass beads into various systems of resins, polymers and binders.
