Standard Drop-On Beads

Taking into account the specifications of the requirements and the type of road markings, Sovitec has developed a range of standard drop-on beads.

To promote the antiskid of road markings, antiskid elements can be mixed with the beads.

Drop-On beads of Sovitec meet the requirements and standards of different markets. For Europe, the beads are EC labeled in respect of the harmonized standard EN1423. Other labels and certifications are available upon request.

1. Water repellent or untreated standard drop-on beads:

This is the first generation of beads coated with a silicone-based substance. This treatment aims to maintain the glass beads longer in stock. These beads are still used in some types of application of thermoplastics.

The beads can also be supplied without treatment, but we strongly discourage the use of these beads for drop-on.

2. Treated standard drop-on beads

To optimize the system performance of road markings, Sovitec's Innovation Center has developed special surface treatments.

Thanks to a special process, Sovitec controls the chemical composition of the beads' surface for a better interaction with road marking products.

A special treatment is applied to the beads to increase their grip and maximize their degree of immersion according to the road marking product.
